Application Development at FreshDirect is a small but high-impact group who innovate the online food shopping experience through custom applications and integrated industry standards. We are passionate in exploring the extent of web/Java-based applications` role in running and maintaining an extensive food manufacturing and delivery operation. You will help develop our well-known storefront in addition to internal applications that run behind the scenes. These range from order fulfillment, delivery allocation, to content and customer management. Responsibilities:
We are hiring a JAVA Application Developer. This developer must possess strong technical skills, with experience developing in high transaction rate e-commerce platforms. He/She is expected to design, develop, unit-test, and support business applications. This position reports to the Director, Application Development.
Qualifications:
• At least 4-6 years of experience in developing and building web-based applications
• Extensive knowledge of Java and building enterprise applications with Java
• Expert working knowledge of Java web service libraries like Axis and Weblogic
• Expert working knowledge of JSP, Servlets, Custom Tags, JDBC, XML/XSL, EJB, JMS, JTA and JUnit
• Advanced knowledge of BEA Weblogic application servers
• Strong knowledge on J2EE design patterns
• Working knowledge of J2EE frameworks like Spring and JSF
• Working knowledge of JPA frameworks like Hibernate and TopLink
• Working knowledge in Eclipse IDE and Subversion desirable
• Working knowledge of software development methodologies
• Knowledge and experience in Object Oriented Design and UML diagrams
• Strong experience in E-Commerce and high transaction-processing environments
• Knowledge of Oracle, SQL, and database design
• Certification in SEI CMM desirable or equivalent work experience
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to adapt existing systems to fast-changing requirements
• Experience and willingness to do Production Support
• Comfortable working in a UNIX/Linux environment
• Proficient in writing technical documentation
• A creative mind, with the expertise to build scalable customer solutions
